Everyday Luxuries

When Bath & Body Works reached out to us for their new Everyday Luxuries line, we knew it was going to be a fast-paced project.

The Everyday Luxuries line showcases elevated scents designed to feel indulgent yet accessible. Our goal was to match the sophistication of the products with a sleek, modern visual approach that communicated both luxury and relatability. Collaborating closely with Bath & Body Works’ amazing creative team, we ensured that every detail aligned with their vision. Shooting in our studio allowed us to control every aspect—from lighting that highlighted the opulence of the packaging to angles that captured the essence of the fragrance story. Together, we crafted visuals that perfectly complemented this elevated line.

Illuminating Elegance

In the studio, we took our time focusing on every small detail of the product. Its translucent design gave us endless opportunities to play with light and shadow. By using hard light, we were able to create bold highlights that made the product shimmer, along with soft reflections that added depth and dimension. The way the light interacted with the surface brought out its unique texture and made it feel even more luxurious.

To make the visuals even more exciting, we decided to experiment with a Kaleidoscope filter on the camera. This added a fun and unexpected twist to the images, creating patterns and effects that felt dynamic and fresh. The filter gave the product a new level of elegance, making it look more artistic and one-of-a-kind. These creative touches helped us produce striking visuals that captured the product’s beauty in a bold and memorable way, ensuring it would stand out in any setting.

Crafting the Opening Shot

From a camera perspective, the opening shot was a focal point of our planning. It was complex and could have been simplified with a robotic camera arm like the Mark Roberts Motion Control Bolt. However, given the time constraints and budget considerations, we needed an alternative that maintained precision without compromising efficiency.

To keep the shoot moving, we opted for a Ronin 2 paired with Master Wheels, mounted on a Fisher 10 dolly. While it took a few tries to perfect, the result exceeded our expectations. This setup not only delivered the smooth, cinematic motion we envisioned but also allowed us to transition quickly through other setups, keeping the entire shoot on schedule.
